From Doner Haus’ Instagram, err, well, three hours ago.

The Shawarma Police were, to be frank, getting a little worried. On my final trip to the old gaff, I asked what the plans were, and a member of staff told me that they were looking to open a steak restaurant similar to their sister restaurant, the Garten Bar in Manchester’s Corn Exchange.

That never came to fruition on West Nile Street; when the old Doner Haus unit did reopen, it housed (well, houses) Leopardos Pizza. Quick non-kebab recommendation folks – the Putanesca with added cheese that Leopardos do is very good and may well leave you asking who the fk are Paesano anyway? – but this isn’t the pizza police.

So what now? We already know, thanks to this article in the Glasgow Times, that casual dining little brother Doner Shack are looking to expand – is it that it? Well, I guess we’ll find out at some point. The return of Doner Haus would be nice, but I suspect it won’t be that. Here’s hoping!
